All Students Need a Backpack: Herndon Insurance's First Annual back to School Backpack Drive

As all of you know, the 2010-2011 school year is rapidly approaching us as Summer is coming to a fast close. Unfortunately, though many students are excited about getting the school year underway, they are ill-equipped, lacking basic supplies such as backpacks that would hold their school books and other utensils.

Knowing this fact has prompted Herndon Insurance to initiate its efforts to support the Houston community's school-aged youth, through our First Annual Back to School Backpack Drive! I am both proud an eager to begin this effort with the help of surrounding businesses and community members who all know the value of investing in our youth.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday, July 27, 2010, and ending Friday, August 20, 2010, we will be accepting all donations in the form of new or gently used backpacks during regular business hours, on location at 9659 S. Gessner Dr., Houston, TX 77071.

On Saturday, August 21, 2010 from 10 AM to 2 PM, we will be hosting our Back to School event at our location, where the backpacks we have purchased, along with the backpacks we have collected from everyone will be presented to the West Orem YMCA, where they will then make arrangements to donate them throughout our community to students who are in definite need of them.

To all of my readers, please do your part in making our First Annual Back to School Backpack Drive a success!

Herndon's 8 Tips About Insurance During Hurricane Season

Hurricane Ike hit Galveston County on September 13, 2008 at 2:39 AM. It was the third costliest hurricane to ever make landfall in FEMA history, trailing Hurricanes Andrew and Katrina. Ike also presented many challenges during the Atlantic hurricane season, and claimed 195 deaths in total. Too add to these challenges, Ike resulted in the largest evacuation in Texas, and resulted in over 80% home lost along the Bolivar County Peninsula in Texas.

Many media outlets out of Houston and Galveston reported homeowners’ and business owners’ claims of paying insurance premiums before the hurricane, to find out they had no insurance to cover the loss and damages due to Ike. This highlighted a clear miscommunication and an absence of understanding, which proved to be devastating for thousands of community members across the region.

While our region is now amidst the crucial hurricane season, it is vital for people in our community to truly grasp how insurance works to keep them and their most valued possessions protected during a very fragile season. Brandon Herndon, independent insurance agent and insurance information consultant, affords many people the opportunity to learn about the benefits of insurance, what a particular insurance plan will offer them during hurricane season, and a breakdown of the insurance industry in general. Relaying this information provides the clearest understanding of the entire process and potential outcomes.

A hurricane segment featuring his Eight Tips about Insurance During Hurricane Season could explore the following themes:
1) Vulnerability
2) Disaster Plan of Action
3) Disaster Supply Kits
4) Evacuation Plan of Action
5) Safety First (Do’s and Don’ts)
6) Post-Disaster Plan of Action
7) Damage & Loss Determining
8) Flood Insurance Benefits

You are Invited to the Re-Grand Opening of Herndon Insurance Agency

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

State Farm and Agent, Brandon Herndon, to Celebrate Re-grand Opening of Office Location

State Farm Insurance and Agency Manager, Brandon Herndon, will celebrate its office location’s re-grand opening on July 16, 2010 from 3-7 PM. The re-grand opening will be held on location at 9659 S. Gessner Dr., Houston, TX 77071.

The goal of this grand opening is to open the location’s doors to the Houston community, to educate them on necessary precautions and to commence the beginning of a trusting relationship with the surrounding community through entertaining festivities.

“The core objective of our re-grand opening is to create the opportunity for people in the Houston community to truly be educated on the benefits of insurance, what a particular insurance plan will afford them, and a breakdown of the insurance industry in general”, says agency manager, Brandon Herndon. “Unless people receive the proper tools to be proactive, they will continue to be vulnerable to outside influences, like hurricanes, lawsuits and unplanned misfortunes.”

More than 70 people, including families, trained insurance instructors and volunteers, attended the test grand opening in June, and even more members of the community are expected to attend the upcoming event.

“In hopes of motivating ill-equipped individuals who are currently without any protection for their homes, businesses and families, and to continue encouraging and educating those who currently have a relationship with our office’s agents, we are celebrating our presence here in Houston, through free mini workshops, food, entertainment, and prizes”, Herndon said.

Herndon and his adequate team of professionals have begun making their mark on the Houston community with their active involvement with Childhood Obesity, Breast Cancer Awareness and Houston’s Summer Basketball Camp. They believe in creating a wholesome work environment, cultivated by hard work, expertise and service to the community.

Brandon Herndon’s State Farm location is located at 9659 S. Gessner Dr., Houston, TX 77071. For more info, please call 713-498-0552 or visit http://www.herndoninsurancetx.com/.
